A THEATER IN TRANSFORMATION
Since 2022, the revitalization of 27 Park Street has followed a seasonal rhythm: we build in the winter, and we welcome audiences from spring through fall. Rather than shutting down for years behind scaffolding, we chose an intentional path where architectural and programmatic development evolve hand-in-hand. Every performance season pushes the spatial potential, and every physical upgrade directly answers the living needs of our performers, neighbors, and guests.
That incremental work brings our ultimate milestone into view: completing the transformation by 2028. Finishing our life-safety systems, historic facade, and year-round climate control in the auditorium will allow us to leave the seasonal shutdowns behind. In 2028, the Adams Theater will fully transition into a permanent, four-season home for arts and community life in downtown Adams.
FROM CONCEPT TO REALITY
The early design renderings from 2021 mapped out the potential of our 8,100-square-foot auditorium: an adaptable space engineered for live performance, lectures, residencies, and civic gatherings. Today, that vision is no longer just on paper. Each performance season tests and refines the hall in real time, turning concept into practice as we work toward completing the theater's restoration by 2028.
